Merry Christmas

I can’t quite believe how fast this year has gone.  It seems like I just blinked and here we are in the twilight hours of the year.

I don’t know about anybody else, but this year has been a very trying one for me and my family and I am looking forward to starting 2017 fresh.  There is something wonderfully exciting about a new year, it’s a blank slate with no mistakes and no troubles and with unlimited potential.

I’m not one for setting New Year’s Resolutions, but at the beginning of this year, I did have one goal and that was to publish a book every month.  As a new writer, I felt it was imperative for me to build my back-list and I set about the task with verve and vigour!

For those keeping count, I did manage to publish one novel for every month of this year, although it wasn’t looking too good a couple of months ago.  For the first time I had to actually abandon a novel I was writing!  I plan to get back to it next year, but I have a couple of other stories to write first.

So my goal for next year is to finish the three series I currently have open (Love Money & Shoes, The Young Royals and The Young Billionaires) and I am going to attempt a Historical Romance and also a Thriller (more about those later).

I also want to take this opportunity to thank you all for reading my work and following me on Facebook and Twitter.  Writing can be lonely (although I think of my characters as imaginary friends) and it’s encouraging every time I get a notification that someone has joined my mailing list or Liked me on Facebook.  Without you guys, writing would be a whole lot more lonely, so thanks and I wish you and your family all the best for the coming year.

I mentioned above that I am going to attempt to write a Historical Romance next year, well, I have the books shown above to blame for it.  The Chance Sisters series by Anne Gracie is one of those series that you can’t help but devour.  Each time I finished one, I determined to wait before I bought the next and inevitably, I couldn’t wait.  I don’t normally read Historical Romance, but in the name of research for my ‘The Young Royals’ series, I decided to try reading a few and now, after this series, I’m hooked.  There is something quite delicious about a very proper gentleman falling for a woman who might not be quite suitable for him and gets under his very buttoned-up waistcoat.  If you’re looking for something to read over the Christmas Holidays, why not check out The Chance Sisters.

As for what you can look forward to in the New Year from me, I have three novels currently in production.

The first is ‘Learning to Breathe’, the novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in November and it should be out in January 2017.  This is currently a standalone novel but may turn into a series at a later date.  But don’t worry, it doesn’t end on a cliff-hanger!

Next is Book Three in The Young Royals series, ‘A Royal Entrapment’.  This is the Lord Chancellor Dominique Furore and Lady Priscilla Beaumonde’s book and is set in the lead up to the Queen Alyssa’s wedding to Lord Will Darkly.  A clean sweet romance without the steamy parts but lots of feels.

And next will be the third book in The Young Billionaires series, ‘The Billionaire Muse’.  This is Mason’s story, the recluse of the group and he meets Abbey who has some secrets that she’s not keen for anyone to find out about.  The Young Billionaires series is a ‘Too hot to Handle’ romance with lots of steamy bits.
And keep your eyes peeled for my Historical Romance, which I’m tentatively calling ‘My Lady, Fair’.

Well that’s it from me for the year and I hope your Christmas and New Year is one of fun, food and family.
