April is my favourite month. it could be because it is my birthday month or it could also be because it is the month that my favourite season starts to make its presence known. Mmm…Autumn. Yes, autumn. I love the crispness in the air and the changing colours of the leaves and the clear blue skies. If you’re in the northern hemisphere you’re probably struggling to imagine autumn in April…that’s okay…I’ll give you a minute 😉
There is nothing I like better than snuggling up on a cool night with a good book…or two…or three…which is a really bad segue into our theme of the month.
Love Triangles
I have to admit to Love Triangles not being one of my favourite tropes, but I have read three of the books on this list (The Selection, Part-Time Princess and Fraternize) and thoroughly enjoyed them.
So grab your ereader and settle in…
The Selection
by Kiera Cass
Prepare to be swept into a world of breathless fairy-tale romance, swoonworthy characters, glittering gowns, and fierce intrigue perfect for readers who loved Divergent, Delirium, or The Wrath & the Dawn.
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape a rigid caste system, live in a palace, and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon. But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her, and competing for a crown she doesn’t want.
Then America meets Prince Maxon—and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
Collide
by Gail McHugh

Then she meets Gavin Blake. A rich and notorious playboy, Gavin is dangerously sexy and charming as hell. Their first encounter is brief, but it’s enough to inflame Emily’s senses. When their paths cross again through an unexpected mutual acquaintance, she tries to deny the connection she feels, but Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome won’t let go so easily.
As she discovers Gavin’s pain-filled past and Dillon’s true nature begins to surface, Emily knows she must take action or risk destroying everyone—including herself. But how can she choose when she can’t trust her own heart?

All Bets Are Off When the Game is Love
Lady Gabrielle is thrilled when Anthony Keaton, earl of Ellis, asks for her hand in marriage. She’s not so pleased when he then leaves the country and four months pass without a word. Clearly, the scoundrel has changed his mind and is too cowardly to tell her. There’s nothing to do but go back on the marriage mart…
When Anthony returns to town and finds his ultimate rival has set sights on Gabby, his continual battle of one-upmanship with Sebastian Thorne ceases to be a game. Anthony is determined to win back the woman who holds his heart-but he’s not expecting Gabby herself to up the stakes…
Fraternize
by Rachel Van Dyken
Emerson just made her dream come true as a professional cheerleader for her favorite pro football team. But even though the plus-size athlete is breaking down boundaries, she still has to contend with the massive rulebook. Carbs? Nope. Chocolate? Definitely not. Still, Emerson loves her curves, and she’ll rock the hell out of this job even if it kills her. Except for one mandate that is easier read than done…
No fraternizing with the players.
Problem one is Miller Quinton: Emerson’s first love, first sex, and the guy who still ignites her daydreams and R-rated fantasies. Thrown back together, Miller and Emerson feel the undeniable pull of passion again, even if the conflict that tore them apart seems insurmountable. Then there’s way-too-sexy Grant Sanchez. He has a serious reputation with the ladies, and when it comes to winning someone he wants, he doesn’t let anyone stand in his way.
Now Emerson is breaking every rule in the manual. But what she doesn’t know is that she’s part of a wicked little game—one that could steal both her dream and her heart.
Part-Time Princess
by Pamela DuMond
Two princes are in love with Lucy. Too bad she’s an imposter…–
I waitress at MadDog biker bar to pay my uncle’s rent at Assisted Living. I work my a** off but when I pour a pitcher of margaritas on a loser harassing my BFF — I’m fired. I scour want-ads until I find one that doesn’t make me want to hurl.
“PERSONAL ASSISTANT WANTED: Twenties. Fab people skills. Celebrities don’t intimidate you. If actress — you can NEVER use this on your resume.”
Sounds dicey as hell. I apply immediately.
Lady Lizzie Billingsley– who if you get drunk and squint could be my impeccably polished twin — is entering into a marriage of convenience with playboy Prince Cristoph, the heir to the throne of Fredonia.
Lizzie doesn’t really want a PA…she’s hiring me to impersonate her, keep Cristoph’s wandering eye in check while she clears up a few loose ends. Did I mention the gig pays a fortune and includes a makeover?
What could possibly go wrong?
Ghouls Rush In
by H.P. Mallory
Do you believe in love after life?
Looking for a fresh start, Peyton Clark becomes the proud owner of a piece of New Orleans history: an Antebellum-era two-story house in the Garden District. It’s going to take time and a fat wallet to restore the fixer-upper to its former glory, but after her recent divorce, Peyton could use the distraction.
It’s not long before Peyton discovers she’s moved into the haunted home of a flirtatious paranormal prankster. She’s receiving kisses from unseen lips and caresses from a ghostly hand, and soon she begins to have vivid dreams, bringing her face-to-face with the incomparably handsome ghost of Drake Montague.
When Peyton grows closer to her general contractor, Ryan Kelly—who is as charming as he is alive—the chill in the air could only suggest Drake’s jealousy from beyond the grave. But even though she’s definitely attracted to and interested in Ryan, Peyton also can’t get Drake out of her dreams, or her heart, as she begins to uncover the frightening truth behind his death a century ago…
